So why are the prenatal visits with your OB so short? Why do you have to wait 6 weeks to see your OB again after birth to be cleared as “back to normal” so quickly?
Well, the reality is many OBs have to see so many clients that they do not always have time to get to know you, your family, and the decisions that are best for you.
But this is not the only way to move through this sacred time. Our team of midwives offer supplemental prenatal and postpartum visits to families planning a hospital birth. These visits can provide education, empowerment, and nourishment that you are missing in your other obstetrical visits.
During your pregnancy, we discuss your individual health, your priorities for your pregnancy, educate you about all of your options for birth and postpartum, and discuss your experience and emotions through your journey. After your baby has arrived, supplemental postpartum visits offer in-home and in-office support guiding you on postpartum recovery, nourishing yourself, taking care of your newborn, adjusting to new routines, and processing your birth experience.
Your pregnancy sets the foundation for your birth, and postpartum sets the foundation for your life as a parent. Supplemental care during your pregnancy and postpartum is an additional investment into your pregnancy and your overall wellbeing.
Supplemental pregnancy visits include:
- Discussion about upcoming lab testing and procedures and education for you to make a decision
- Thoughtful advice on nutrition, supplements, exercise, and lifestyle for an optimal pregnancy and birth
- Well-rounded and personalized recommendations for remedies and treatments of common pregnancy ailments
- Birth planning guidance and resources to create a strong plan for however your birth unfolds
- Education on optimal fetal positioning and maternal physiology with Spinning Babies
Supplemental postpartum visits include:
- Monitoring of your vitals, bleeding, physical healing, and overall postpartum recovery
- Support with breastfeeding/babyfeeding, including latch assistance and personalized feeding recommendations
- Guidance for maintaining adequate rest, hydration, and nourishment in the postpartum period
- Non-judgmental emotional support and space to process your birth and postpartum experience
- Personalized recommendations for any postpartum questions or concerns
- Thoughtful referrals to outside providers when needed (bodywork, mental health therapy, PT/OT, OB care, and more)
Pricing
- Includes 4-6 visits all of which are 45 to 60 minutes long

- Access to Midwives via chat, M-F 8am-8pm
- 3 visits, two home visits and one office visit, 45-60 minute appointments, anytime between birth and 8 weeks postpartum

Prenatal Care (4 Visits)

Monitrice Care
A doula monitrice is a Licensed Midwife who combines emotional and physical support during childbirth with clinical monitoring and assessment skills. Their expertise includes monitoring fetal heart tones, checking maternal vital signs, and assessing cervical dilation during labor. A monitrice guides families through early and active labor at home, helping them determine the optimal time to transition to their chosen birthing location. While they do not perform medical interventions, they provide personalized support and guidance based on your vital signs and overall condition.
This approach is ideal for clients planning a hospital birth but wanting to spend as much time as possible laboring in the comfort of their home. Our monitrice services include six prenatal visits, continuous support at home during active labor, assistance through the transition to the hospital, and two postpartum visits, ensuring comprehensive care throughout your birthing journey.

Montrice Care: $5,000
- Includes 4 prenatal care visits
- Support during laboring at home, transferring to your birth location, and support during your birth,
- 2 postpartum visits (one in your home)

Additional Postpartum Services
Placenta Encapsulation
Traditional Chinese medicine has utilized the placenta for thousands of years to support and nourish the mother as she recovers from childbirth. This personalized medicine aids in postpartum hormone balancing and nutrient replacement. For an additional fee we provide the placenta processing of your choice. You receive placenta capsules for immediate consumption, and a tincture for future use. Also included with your placenta is a cord keepsake.

Belly Binding
A traditional postpartum technique that provides gentle abdominal support as muscles and organs return to their pre-pregnancy position. On day three, we can wrap the binder for you and teach your partner or support person how to do so if you want to repeat the binding.
Belly Binding – Included in complete midwifery care – $75 for non-clients
Amay Postpartum Ritual
A nurturing 2–3 hour ceremony created by Arianna that includes birth story processing, a herbal bath, rebozo alignment, abdominal massage with healing oils, nourishing soup, and belly binding. This ritual is designed to honor and support your postpartum transition.
